Frank Lloyd Wright Thomas Entry Ceiling Light Stained Glass

Item# YT9049

This Frank Lloyd Wright Thomas Entry Ceiling Light Stained Glass is adapted from the art glass pattern Wright designed for three vestibule ceiling lights in the Frank Thomas House, Oak Park, Illinois (1901). This project was designed and built at the request of Mr. James Rogers as a wedding gift for the client’s daughter and son-in-law. Wright’s use of mother-of-pearl, small gilded squares, diamond shapes, and an abstract arrowhead motif in the ceiling lights adds to the impression of a brilliant jewel box in a vestibule with art glass on three of its four walls. Some of Wright’s most intricate art glass is found in the Thomas House.

On this glass panel, enamel colors are individually applied to a single sheet of glass which is then kiln fired to permanently fuse the enamels to the glass. The glass panel is then framed with a metal came and includes hanging chain and wood stand for optional desk or table display. Ht: 10”. W: 10”. This Frank Lloyd Wright glass panel is officially licensed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
