The Botta Duo 24 Watch manufactured in Germany by Botta Design with a Swiss Ronda Movement and Sapphire Crystal is a functional, elegant and unique design timepiece with special features for the world traveller. The watch shows two different time zones. It has both the local time zone in a 12-hour format together with a second time zone in a 24-hour format. The outer main display shows the local time. Its striking 12-hour hand points to the same one-hand scale that has been used in the UNO for more than 25 years. Klaus Botta developed the amazingly simple one-hand principle back in 1986. The scale itself is mounted on a slightly inclined scale ring which guides the markings down to the lower-level 24-hour display. The positioning of the 24 hour display at the central of the dial is based on the one-hand principle, shows any second time zone that is favored. Its delicate 24-hour hand and numbered scale are clearly distinct from the 12-hour main display. An artificial horizon divides the inner 24-hour section into a day half and a night half, allowing the day half of the second time zone to be identified at a glance. Botta-Design watches are characterized by a concentration on bare essentials. The design features are functional clarity and a high degree of technical aesthetic. Their watches have already received 20 renewed design awards.

The design is one of a number of Liberty Magazine cover designs from 1926-27 that the editors thought to be too "radical" and never used. In 1973 there was a fire in the Arizona Biltmore. This graphic was selected from the Frank Lloyd...
