Alphonse Mucha Set of Three Art Glass Panels

Item# YT85575859

The Reverie Art Glass Panel by Alphonse Mucha (1897) is adapted from an illustration originally designed to serve as the 1898 Champenois company calendar. However, its immediate popularity led to its swift publication by the magazine La Plume as a decorative panel with the title Reverie (daydream). Mucha's design shows a dreamy-eyed young woman leafing through a book of decorative designs. The prominent disk behind her is elaborately decorated with flowers and their stems forming a lace-like pattern.

The Feather and the Primrose Art Glass Panels by Alphonse Mucha (1899) were adapted from color lithographs. The Feather was the first of the Primrose and Feather panels to be published. On the Feather panel, geometric mosaic motif contrasts with the floral ornamental circle inspired by nature in the companion piece Primrose.

On each glass panel, enamel colors are individually applied to a single sheet of glass which is then kiln fired to permanently fuse the enamels to the glass. The glass panels are then framed with a copper patina metal came for an antique feel, and includes the hanging chains and clear acrylic stands for desk or table display. Dimensions: Ht: 12” W: 5” (left/right). Ht: 12" W: 9" (middle).
