Louis C. Tiffany Gladioli Shawl

The Louis C. Tiffany Gladioli Shawl adapts the floral design from a gorgeous Favrile glass vase in The Met collection. Designed about 1909 by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933), this striking object is embellished with white gladioli. Celebrated for his innovations in stained glass, Louis Comfort Tiffany embodied the artistic spirit of America's Gilded Age. Popular among Art Nouveau artisans, this motif offered a nearly infinite range of colorways. The designer never sold this vase; rather, he kept it in his own collection. This shawl is 79" x 28" and made of 40% wool/40% viscose/20% silk. Dry clean only.
